What
is Daydream? DDD is an online portfolio and service
offering illustration & design help to regular people.
Why is
it called Daydream? My initials are D.A.Y. and it's
always been my dream to do this for a living, so the name
just seemed to make sense. My goal is to satisfy customers
& make stuff I can be proud of.
What kinds
of things can you do? Create illustration & design
for various types of printed products, logo design, layout
for business cards, stationery, brochures. Also product design
& packaging, book jacket design, greeting cards &
signage. I can work in a variety of different styles, depending
on what the project is.
How does
this process work? It's pretty simple. Contact me
& let me know what you need. Be as descriptive as possible.
Include any relevant information, ideas, pencil sketches,
or color chips. But even if you only have a vague idea about
what you need, I can help you develop it. Once an agreement
is made, I'll work up some design suggestions and you give
some feedback. We communicate and work together until you¹re
satisfied with the final result.
How long
does it take? It depends....each job is different....I
like to give a 2 week turnaround time, but most jobs can be
done sooner...some jobs just require more time.
What do
you charge? My standard rate is $50.00 per hour (with
a 1/2 hour minimum). Each job has different needs. Once your
needs are determined, I can give a more accurate quote.
Who have
you worked for? Some of the customers I've worked
with include: Amnesty International, Boston Beer Company (Samuel
Adams), Boston Folk Art, Cambridge Trust, Cambridge Fair Housing,
Ending Violence Against Women, Farm Aid, FastJack Sportswear,
First Night International, Fraternal Order of Police (RI),
Genetic Engineering Action Network (GEAN), Harper Collins,
Innewsweekly, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Jennifer Ellsworth
Landmarks, Old North Church, Mugar/Boston's Fourth of July,
Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Science, New England Aquarium,
Swanboats of Boston, USS Constitution Museum, WBOS radio,
WMBR radio and many more.
How do I contact
you? The best way is via email at derek@daydreamdesign.com.
Please feel free to write.
